Spaghetti Experiment Whiria te tangata Weave the people together

 Purpose
We wanted to find out how much weight a spaghetti could hold before the spaghetti broke.

Method
We put one spaghetti between two tables with a twenty cm gap.
Then we tied a cup to the spaghetti and we put blocks and weights in the cup.
When the spaghetti broke we picked up the blocks and we worked out how much weight was in the cup.
We then did the experiment again but with two spaghetti
we then did the same thing as last time
Then we did three, four, and five strands of spaghetti

Results
Whiria te tangata
Weave the people together
my graph shows as we had more spaghetti it could hold more weight

the experiment suggests the importance of unity because if a whole group of people works together there stronger like strands of spaghetti.

Micheal Jackson

Micheal Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, and died on June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson was a singer-songwriter and dancer who was famous for Thriller and other songs.

We are learning about Michael Jackson as part of our study of Taika Waititi's film Boy. In Boy, the main character thinks Michael Jackson is amazing.

Recap on Wednesday

On Wednesday Ngā Here Kahikatea went to lake Ianthe and we had to learn how to take the Kuta out of the water we had to grab the Kuta from the bottom of it and sometimes we had to almost dive under the water to grab it the reason we had to grab it from the bottom was that if you grabbed it from the top you would only get a little bit of Kuta so we had to grab it from the bottom so we could get it all out.

We also learned about kiekie we were told to grab the higher branches because they had more sunlight and were greener and we had to rip the leaves off of the branches and then we had to keep the white bit of the leaves and with the green bit we placed them back under the trees to give back to mother earth Papatūānuku and we are also going to dry out the Kuta and the kiekie.

Hangi stuffing

 Hangi 19 March 2021

On the 19 of march, we walked to Whare Manaaki to make a hangi we had walking there and back when we got there we got told what needed to be done and who wanted to do what everyone got to do something some people got to dig the hole and the others got to do the meat and cut the vegetables and I got to make the stuffing with some other people.

One of the foods we prepared for the hangi was stuffing.  To make stuffing, you need to buy bread, break it into little pieces. I was one of the people that was breaking up the bread into little pieces there were about ten people breaking the bread and one person throw a whole

piece of bread into the pot and you need to buy butter and melt it until it's all melted and buy onions cut it into small pieces which took a long time because we had to feed 60 people after you break the bread into little pieces melt the butter and cut the onions you put all three ingredients into a big pot and mix it all with your hand once you've mixed it all you put the pot in the hole that people dug and you put cloth and then you but dirt and then you wait for it to cook it.
